Herbal tea · Jamaican pastries · Market booth

Grown in the garden. Blended by hand. Full of Jamaican flavor.

Small-batch herbal tea — Jamaican sorrel tea, lemongrass ginger and more — and Jamaican baked goods made by Radia, with sorrel, mint, ginger and turmeric she grows herself. Find the booth at local farmers markets, or preorder for pickup.

We're a market booth, not a walk-in café — check the schedule before you visit.

What makes it Garden Brew

This isn't tea from a supplier. It's tea from a garden.

Blended by hand

Every blend is mixed in small batches by Radia herself — recipes she created, tasted and tweaked until they were right.

Grown in the garden

The Jamaican sorrel, mint, ginger and turmeric in our blends are grown and picked at home. You can taste the difference.

Jamaican pastries

Spice bun, bulla and slow-fermented sourdough, baked for the market table. Best with a cup of something warm.

Twenty loose-leaf blends

The blends

Every blend is mixed by hand in small batches. Several of the ingredients — sorrel, mint, ginger, turmeric — are grown in Radia's own garden. Nearly all of them are naturally caffeine-free.

Grown & blended by the owner

Some of it grows right outside the door.

Sorrel is grown from seed to that ruby-red calyx. Ginger and turmeric come out of the ground by hand. Mint gets cut fresh. It's slower than ordering from a wholesaler — and it's the whole point.

Nothing here is rushed. The sorrel, mint, ginger and turmeric in the blends come from Radia's own garden.

The garden story

Jamaican sorrel

The ruby-red calyx behind Sorrel Ginger Citrus — grown, picked and dried by hand.

Mint

Cut fresh from the garden — the cool heart of the mint blends.

Ginger

Dug by hand. The warming backbone of Sorrel Ginger Citrus, Lemongrass Ginger Blast and the Anti-inflammatory Blend.

Turmeric

Garden root that gives the Anti-inflammatory Blend its golden color and earthy warmth.

Good to know

Questions we get at the booth

Do you have a café or shop I can walk into?

Not yet. Garden Brew Tea Cafe is a farmers-market booth — the café is wherever the tent goes up. Most Saturdays that's the Waialua Farmers Market by the old sugar mill on Oʻahu. Check the market schedule for the next date, or preorder for pickup at a market.

How do preorders work?

Choose what you'd like on the preorder page and tell us which market you'll pick up at. Please order at least 24 hours before pickup. Radia confirms every request personally before it's final — a preorder is a request until you hear back.

Do you deliver or ship?

Right now, everything is picked up at the market. Delivery and shipping are something we're looking into — follow along on Instagram and we'll announce it there first.

Which ingredients do you grow yourself?

Jamaican sorrel, mint, ginger and turmeric are all grown in Radia's own garden. Everything is blended by hand in small batches.

How should I brew the tea?

Place 1½ teaspoons of blend in a tea bag or small infuser — a little more for extra strength. Set it in a cup of very hot water, cover, and steep for 5 minutes, then sweeten however you like. The Jamaican Chai Blend and Rooibos Fog take 2 teaspoons and are lovely with milk; the Turmeric Coco blend is 2 tablespoons blended into hot water.

Are your teas caffeine-free?

Almost all of them. The Jamaican Chai Blend (Assam black tea) and the Hormone Blend (green tea) contain caffeine — every other blend is naturally caffeine-free.

Can I drink herbal tea if I'm pregnant or on medication?

Some herbs aren't recommended during pregnancy or alongside certain medications, so please check with your healthcare provider first. Every blend's full ingredient list and Radia's notes on each herb are on the menu page, and she's always happy to talk through a blend at the booth.
